The issues do not appear to be related completely to complexity or video clip size: I have had 20-minute audio podcasts bomb out in mid-render, while experiencing no problems compiling a 90-minute program from 80-100 source clips, some of which were 2GB in size. I have Win10 Pro running an i7 chip (at 3.4GHz) with 32GB of Ram, and I still use v8.6 - but the Camtasia results vary depending on the project.
I've not noticed any of these problems on my much older, and SLOWER windows 7 rig. Are there some special settings/tweaks I can use to have a smoother experience? I've noticed this happens when camtasaia hits anything over 2.2 Gb of RAM. During editing the program routinely freezes-I've noticed it happen on my i7 any time the processor hits above 40%.After about 10 minutes the webcam is completely frozen.
